This Privacy Policy explains what information Safely Clever (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit safelyclever.com (the “Website”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: When you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit. These messages are delivered to us by email so we can reply.
- Comments: If comments are open on an article and you leave one, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your email address is not published.
- Newsletter (if offered): If we offer an email newsletter and you subscribe, we collect your email address and any details you choose to provide, and use them only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically log basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the Website secure and running and are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider.
Cookies
The Website uses a small number of cookies:
- Essential cookies needed for the Website to work, for example to remember that you have logged in (for site administrators) or to protect forms from spam.
- Comment cookies: if you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email and website in your browser for your next comment.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first. You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings.
How we use information

- Keep the Website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.

Service providers
We rely on a few trusted providers to run the Website. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services:
- Web hosting and caching: our Website is hosted by Hostinger and uses LiteSpeed caching to load pages faster.
- Email delivery: contact form messages and any newsletters are delivered by email service providers.
- Gravatar: if you comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service (operated by Automattic) to check whether you have a profile picture.
Embedded content and external links
Articles may link to or embed content from other websites, such as official documents, videos or social media posts. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly, and those websites may collect data about you. Their privacy policies apply, not ours.
Data retention
- Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any follow-up.
- Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published, so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
- Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and some US states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact us through our contact page. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use HTTPS encryption across the Website and take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will provide a more prominent notice on the Website.
